How to Hire a Roofing Contractor
Here are some tips and ideas to help in your decision-making process:
1. Get references and customer contact details.
Ask for references and their contact information. Any reputable roofing contractor will be happy to provide you with references. You want to hear from previous customers about the contractor’s work and the quality of their work.

2. Do online research.
You want to see what kind of unbiased reviews and comments are available. What does Google say about the company? Also, check to see how much experience they have. You want a contractor who knows what they’re doing.

3. Is the roofing contractor local?

4. What type of warranty is offered?
It’s essential to ask your contractor what type of warranty they offer on their product and labor. Is the warranty coming from the manufacturer, the contractor, or both? A contractor with a short-term labor warranty should be a red flag. There’s no accountability if there’s little or no warranty.

5. Make certain the contractor is insured.

Does their insurance also cover all their employees? If they don’t have proper insurance, you could be liable. You don’t want to risk a potential lawsuit if someone is injured on your property.

This may seem obvious, but if you follow up with a contractor, do they call you back and answer your questions? Or do they not get back to you for days? Do they provide timely estimates and quotes? Do they keep their promises?
If they’re acting that way now, how will they be acting when you really need them?
